This remarkable barrier island in Florida's Gulf of Mexico features 28 miles of one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! Collect shells, sunbathe, swim or play in the surf. It's all here. The St. George Island State Park features one of the State's longest and most beautiful shorelines.

If you have a hankering to wet a hook, St. George Island will be the fishing destination of your dreams. Whether you fish from the beach, off a pier, or hire a charter to take you out, you're sure to enjoy the experience. This area has been consistently nationally ranked for its excellent fishing. What's to catch? Try flounder, pompano, tarpon, redfish, and of course, trout.

The Island and Apalachicola area feature ecological, scenic and historic tours. The island features a number of gift and clothing shops - you can even get beach supplies, books and even rent a bicycle or video here. Nearby Apalachicola features many old waterfront buildings and historic homes that are worth a scenic drive across the bridge to this historic port town.

St. George Island and surrounding areas feature an amazing variety of culinary choices. Fresh seafood? Of course! And after you've had your fill, a number of retail seafood markets can pack your cooler for the trip home.

Whatever you decide, your island vacation is gonna be great!
